We struggled to find a wedding venue that captured our personalities and accurately reflected our vision for our big day. After doing some looking around, we decided to check out a little place in Hermann, Missouri. It's further away than we hoped, but we fell in love upon arrival. We decided to make Little Piney Lodge the place we would say our 'I do's'. The ceremony will be outside (pending cooperative weather) right on the lake. Countless trees across the lake should provide a beautiful fall backdrop. The ceremony will be officiated by Caleb Butler, Worship Minister at Wentzville Christian Church. Caleb has been a friend of ours for some time now. We respect his values and integrity, and are more than happy to have him making our new life official. At the top of the hill above the ceremony, appetizers and cocktails will be servedin a covered outdoor pavilion while the Bride and Groom take pictures. The reception will be held just down the hill, approximately 75 yards away from the ceremony.

Everyone understands the struggles of going to weddings where the ceremony is in a different location than the reception. We simplified things by keeping everything at the same property. The Little Piney Lodge offers the perfect solution with a reception location just down the hill from the ceremony. The reception will be held in an enclosed barn. We love food and we intend to have plenty of it. We will have several appetizers and entree options with an open bar to wash it all down. The property has fire pits around the lake and just outside the barn. These will be burning through the night for roasting marshmallows and s'mores. The celebration will run from the end of the ceremony through 11:00 PM.

Throughout our near 7 years together, we have discussed our wedding plenty of times. Things it might look like, people we might invite, food we might serve… All of those variables have changed throughout the years. The sole constant we have always discussed when it came to this big time: the honeymoon. From the beginning, we have always wanted to go to Rome. We have such a great respect for art, history, the early church, and the entire culture of ancient Rome. On Monday, October 27, we will board the plane and make the flight across the pond to our dream honeymoon location. For 6 nights we will marvel at historical architecture, paintings and sculptures created by some of the most brilliant artists of all time. We can’t wait to explore hundreds of churches that have given contributions to early Christianity. After Rome we will spend some time in Florence and then travel to Monaco before making the trip back home to start our new life together.
